Raise me up

I've gotten a raise! :D:D

Today at work we had evalutation of how fast etc you are and after that we had wagetalk. And I got a raise! So now I earn like 80 pounds more a month, yaay me!

It's been quite a while since I wrote last time now, but I've just felt I havn't had that much interesting to talk about. I got my first monthly pay this Friday, that was awesome. The same night I made a budget of how much I could spend every week etc. Two days later I had crashed that budget straight through the floor. And the rest of the week hasn't gone that much better either, a little to much "going down taking a beer at the pub after work". So now I'm kind of back to status "poor". But at least i'll get some more money at the end of the month now, so jolly-o-joy.

Yesterday I finally started going to the gym. I took the first step and bought a monthly card at Fitness First. 75 pounds, now ain't that cheap!? :P But it was kind of worth the money though. Really comfy environment with free tea and soft drinks, free dispensers with shampoo and soap in the showers and that kind of stuff.

So I got some help from a guy named Martin that showed me around and made me a personal program based on me going to the army in a couple of months. I tried out doing the whole program before going home. Man did I look ridiculous trying to do 30 chinups.. I made like 3.. 10 times.

Oh we'll, speaking of the devil - the army that is - my mom called me the other day and told me I had gotten a mail from the army. Due to lack of money my time in the army has now gone down from 15 months to just 11 months. That could be a good thing, but the thing now is that I just get 4 extra months free - I get called in, in July 2007 - which is just plain annoying!! What the hell am I gonna do for a total amount of 7 months!? It was hard enough to find out what to do for the three months after I've gotten home from London..

But oh we'll, I have quite a lot of thinking to do. And i'll save that 'til later, cause now I'm going to the gym again!

PS! I kind of hate the "timeshift" right now. Made me end up waiting in the cold at 7am in the morning for 1,5h.. I could've slept :'(

Always fun using the tube at rush hour.. Here I am waiting in a 10-minute line just to use the escalator leading out of the station. A fire here should sure be fun "run run, panic".

A week of work and the afterworker.

Ahh, so now I've finished my first week of work. It's been quite tough, but still a lot of fun. The amount of customers has increased by maybe 30% for each day that has passed, so the pace starts pumping fast. So off course this Friday had the biggest flow of customers so far, but luckily I got to do salads - which has less customers. Which was very nice since I ended up working 10 hours that day. When we finally locked up the store around 17:30 we decided to go out and take an afterworker. It was quite an afterworker. I got home around 2-3am :P.

I was all sweaty, my hair was a mess, and I only had a spare t-shirt with me, so I had the work-pants all night, yieeha. So I went around being the shabby stinkbomb, but hey, I did have a lot of fun :D.

Right now I'm sitting around wondering how the hell I've succeeded in wasting the whole pay I got this friday. Guess i'm in the deep shit again eh, yay me! Out of internet time now, but hopefully I'll get back with something interesting to say next time. Baibai <3.

Yep, believce it or not, that's me in the shabby green t-shirt.

A new haircut and a job.

Hey hey, I had my second day at work today! I'm working at Fuzzy's new restaurant at... Closest station is moorgate, keke? Yesterday the place had still not opened so we did the final cleaning up and moving in stuff, while carpenters were messing around and making the door dusty over and over again (and we cleaned it up over and over and..). So today was the first real day, today the restaurant launched! After 7,5h work with only a 10 minute break (and lunch not before these 7,5 hours had passed) I got quite exhausted, but it was still a quite easy day, I only handled around 30 customers. I think that later it might become up to 200-300, from what I've heard. We'll, at least it was a reaaal blast going up at 5:45am this morning, especially sleeping in the same room as Henning - that started work at 11am. He sure got a lot of sleep this morning.. :D

So the news that should actually be before this is the haircut.. I cut my hair this weekend and I didn't really feel like trusting the skills of cheap hairstylers, so I thought "hey i'll do it myself!". Another great plan from the Zmilk. Henning started cutting it a little with scissors, then he wanted to go eat, so I finished the rest by myself - sitting in the bathtum. That includes the back of my head. Without a mirror there. I thought I could do it on feeling. Thought. Last time I trust my skills.. :P I managed to fuck it up a little in the back, and after he had stopped laughing Henning tried to fix it. He tried that with a shaving machine though... It got worse. Now I'm outta time here, but I think i'll post some pictures of the beautiful back of my head tomorrow.

The hair is also to short on the sides etc, etc... Oh well, gotta go now, byebye!

Yep yep, it is teh terrible.

Bush is shot.

Bush is shot and killed. Yep, that's what the newspaper made me believe.. It was actually just ads for a new dramashow which story is based on "if president Bush got shot".. Though they put a big picture of him "grabbing his stomach" on the front of the paper and a big nice propaganda picture on the back, so hey, I did believe it for a full hour! You know so little about what's actually happening in the world when you're traveling and I havn't gotten settled yet, so in my eyes it was totally likely.. I even let it sink in "wow, that's.. weird..". Now I just feel retarded :P.

We'll, quite some stuff has happened since the last blogging. I had a job interview later that day, and it went well. Except for the fact that I was trying to walk there in 30 min and ended up walking there in an hour, due to really lousy mapreading skills. Because of this job I turned down the "Italian job". I had training for the interview job today, and I'll have one more training session tomorrow. If I get the job I will sign a contract tomorrow afternoon. The job is as a "sandwich maker" at a place called Fuzzy's grub. Web page: Fuzzysgrub.com.

Oh well, i'm not gonna keep boring you with all these things, but I can tell you that yesterday evening was quite a bitch. I had one "quite guaranteed job", two training sessions, and one more job interview coming up. Now i'm down to one training session and a job interview that i'm going to turn down. Yay me..!

PS! I only have 20 pounds left to live for this month, and I have household stuff left to buy! I'm the shit!

Henning holding the paper. First page showed. This took over the first page instead of the North Korean test bombings.. Made you believe it..
Second page - the so called assassination..

Work it.

Righto, so now I've started searching for work as we'll. I started it the day before yesterday by sending the incredible amount of two emails, applying for jobs found at gumtree.com. I kept up the pace very well yesterday by going down to starbucks and getting an application form, and hand out one whole CV to Subway!! Okay, for you who hasn't gotten it yet i'm being ironic, I've sucked so far, there has always been reasons to why I couldn't go searching - I have a cold and it is cold, I am not properly dressed, etcetera etcetera...

Though today has been a completely different story! I actually tried really hard and after asking at about 15 different places I had handed out one whole CV! Okay, that part felt hopeless, but like 10 minutes later I got called by a person who I think (observe think) was the one I handed the CV to. She asked if I wanted to come for an interview later and I said yes, so she said that she'd call me again. "And by the way, my name is Lady." I thought I must've heard wrong so I asked her what she said her name was, but she repeated the same thing and I accepted it. It seems I am going to an interview later... with a lady. Amazing isn't it?

I didn't give up there though, I kept on searching and after a while I entered this Italian place (it was named "Italiano"-blabla-something, and the two employes in there seamed to be Italian, even the two customers before me in line looked Italian. I felt totally misplaced, it was this small shop selling Italian cheese and olive oil and that kind of stuff, and I didn't even know what I were doing there. While thinking about running out, cause I really had nothing to do there the old man behind the counter said "Yees?". I thought I might as well since I've come this far, so I asked if they had any vacancies and he took me to the side and asked me what kind of a job I looked for and where I'm from.. I felt he was about to ridicule me, and just waited for the blow to strike me, but then he told me that one guy there was actually about to quit so there might be a fulltime job there for me. A bit time behind the counter and a great bit time of cleaning from what I understand, but hey, it's a job! And it's a five minute walk from where I live! So I thought it was a perfect job to start off with - especially since the total amount of cash I have left is £30. I get weekly pay, which means I'm probably actually able to survive now, yaaay me!

Oh we'll I havn't gotten the job yet, but he seemed like it was pretty much mine, he's gonna call me today or tomorrow. We'll, now I gotta to an "open interview" for another job, so well see how that goes :).

Aww yeah, it is true, we have done the laundry! Though Henning ended up getting more stains on one of his shirts then there were before putting it in the laundromat. One might think that when you pay 3,5 punds for one laundromat it should work. But no, not in London.. <3

Moving in.

Yesterday was a good day. At first I got the sickness insurance card from Sweden, yieeehaaa, now I can party again!! <:D. A little later we got the message that we were now able to move in to the apartment, the deposition had arrived! Finally! Fracking English bureaucracy.. The bank system here is truly infected with it.

Oh we'll, so we went down and got the key, and Henning signed all the contracts and stuff, he's the one actually "owning" the apartment now. Then we said goodbye to Generator Hostel, London. It was a fun experience with lots of fun people, but it was quite insane from time to time. Pretty much all the competitions the place arranged (the price you could win was most often alcohol) ended up with the contestants getting naked and doing weird stuff.. Okay, that might sound more weird then it actually was, but the image in your head might actually be quite close to the truth :) (I mean some of the "weird things" could for example involve spraying cream on people.. The milk product "cream" that is..).

Having arrived to the apartment I decided straight away - "this apartment is the shizznit". It's Zone 1, quite close to Victoria Station, it's good standard to be London etc etc etc. We were really hungry though, so we went out to use some coupons we had for "cheap food at McDonalds". It's always interesting asking people here in London where the closest McDonalds is. This time we got the answer "It's over at Victoria Station. I guess you could take the sub there. Cause people who goes to McDonalds probably don't want to walk..".

We'll, that's pretty much it, I probably won't be able to search for a job for a few days now, since there's a lot to do with the apartment...

...and I have got 70 copies of my CV with the wrong adress on it.

We'll, I plan to buy a camera today, so i'll take a picture of something nice and edit it into this post later.

Yay, I've got the camera! That's our apartment to the right of the salon.

New mobile number.

Today I finally went aaall the way to the closest supermarket (which was almost 100 steps away, my oh my im teh fitness today!) and bought a new sim card. So now I have a new number, an english one, yay me!

You want it, now don't ya? We'll, I can't just post it, you gotta work a little for it *evil grin*, so here goes:

It starts with the landcode (oh no duh!) which is 44, so if you're calling from Sweden it's 0044.
It continues with the four digit number *1337 theme :D* that is "(13 * 37 * 13) + 1337 + (13 * 13) - 2".

Okay, still a sixnumber-digit to go! I'm gonna divide it into a 5-digit number and a 1-digit number.

The 5-digit *"meaning of life" theme :]* one is "(42*42*42/2) + (42*42*4*2) + (42*42*2) + (42*42/2) - (42*2) + 3"

Now why did I save the last number? We'll, I don't want every person accidently stumbling onto this blog - thinking he's a math expert while using the windows calculator - end up sending me creepy messages all through the night.

So the last number iiiis... *dumdadadum*, my old mobile phone numbers last number, -1. Example: If it was 2 it is now 1.

Alrighty, so the number is something like this then:
(0044) (0) **** ***** *

There we go! No i'm not bored, shut up >:(.

Yep, I guess that's it, Zmilky over and out.

Oh yeah, heres a small FAQ:

"Hey dude, have you gotten a job yet?"
"No."

"How's it going with that apartment?"
"I'm kind of... Still stuck at the Generator."

"Gotten that sickness insurance card yet?"
"Nope."

"So have you succeeded with anything really, I mean - you've been in London for a week.."
"I have succeeded in getting more sick, and spending about 4 times my calculated budget, keke.."

The cheeky ol' mobile i'm stuck with over here.. And yes, i'm still a lameass, stealing pictures.

Yes, i'm still here!

Righto, so where do I start? Today it's sunday (yes, this is written during sunday). Last time I blogged was tuesday. I had to look both of these things up, my sense of days right now isn't how it should be. About the time I posted the last blog I heard some swedish voices behind me. Two swedish girls trying to operate a microwave - I just had to help :]. After talking to them for a while in Swedish a guy comes up to us sitting on the other side table looking quite weirdly at us. I really don't understand the deal, but after a while he introduces himself - in Swedish. So suddenly it went from one swede to four.

The guy - Henning - had come to the hostel about a week ago and ever since he had been looking for an apartment. And he had looked around a lot. Now he had found the perfect one and paid predeposit and all, so he is prolly gonna move in there next week. He could need a roommate though, since the rent would be high for just one person, so I guess it's my lucky day ^^. Would feel good not having to spend a whole week contacting like 50 different agencies and looking at a great bunch of apartments. I think i'll check the place out on monday.

So what have I've been spending the rest of the two days doing? We'll, nothing really, I've been hanging out with the two Swedish girls - Madeleine and Charlotte -, and Henning. On the Thursday me and the girls went downtown just to hang out. When going back though we were unsure about what bus to take. We were at the end station and couldn't decide which one of two buses to take. I walk onto a bus and say "okay, let's take this one". I barely finish the sentence before the bus door closes and the bus drives away. With me on the bus looking stupid and stunned and Madeleine and Charlotte laughing themselves to death on the other side. Cause the thing was I had noo idea where to get off or where to go from there. And it was getting dark. But it all turned out okay in the end - except for me wasting 5 pounds on my mobile phone.

Yesterday Madeleine and Charlotte caught a flight home to Sweden, so now it's just me and Henning. And this night has been really terrible, no longer do I only have my foot to worry about - I have a teeerrible cold! I fear every breath I take, cause my throat is so soar that it feels like I shouldn't even be able to breathe. So I guess that I won't be searching for a job today either - just like every other day so far. I'm gonna sit around and do nothing. I mean recovering.. *cough..*

Yes, i'm still just stealing pictures from the internet, i'll get a camera.. soon..
